Vision:
Mamas of Zanzibar offers a unique opportunity to explore the island’s culture and Swahili cuisine directly through the eyes of local women. As 73% of travelers seek authentic, immersive experiences (Tripadvisor), we aim to lead in sustainable tourism, providing non-touristy encounters that empower women and uplift communities for generations.

Mission:
Driven by Maskat, a Zanzibari single mother of three, our mission is to curate immersive cultural journeys that provide travelers with a genuine taste of Zanzibar’s culinary and cultural legacy. With 68% of travelers now seeking experiences that support local communities (UN Women), we create opportunities in the tourism and heritage sectors that empower local women, promote economic independence, and contribute to the sustainable development of Zanzibar. Every booking helps ensure that the benefits of tourism extend directly to the community, fostering long-term positive change.

Mwanamke ni nguzo ya familia. - A woman is the pillar of the family. This Swahili proverb honors the strength, resilience, and central role of women in the family and community life. It reflects the spirit of empowerment at the heart of Mamas of Zanzibar, where local women are not just the cornerstone of their families, but also the key to a thriving, sustainable community.

Together, we’re building a brighter future for the Mamas and the local community, one meaningful connection at a time.

Karibuni Sana - You're all very welcomed
